Meet Divine DIVAS Jordan and Lynn Osborne at #ThePowerOfConnections2019

The Divine DIVAS Jordan and Lynn Osborne, believe that their journey is guided by God (their divine purpose) and expect the most of themselves. One passion, two voices.

They use their personal journey and professional experience to inspire others who are dealing with life-altering circumstances to see that there is always another path. While their journey to starting a business together was different from others, they both have been finding ways to thrive with autoimmune conditions that left them reevaluating their life plans.

The Divine DIVAS offer education on making better choices for what we introduce to our bodies and minds by replacing toxins of all kinds (thoughts, environment, products, people) with healthier alternatives. We encourage healthy living head to toe.

Lynn and Jordan share their story in their own words:

Lynn, “At 40 life drastically changed  when I woke up with Sudden Hearing Loss and could not return to work in planned profession. While adapting to my new normal I returned to college to complete my Bachelor’s degree in psychology, the journey led me to pursue a Master’s degree in holistic health. While my plan changed to accommodate several autoimmune conditions, chronic pain and hearing loss; the goal of having a family business remained constant. I needed to find a way to achieve that and accommodate my new life. My passion has always been to help others in some capacity and through that continued desire plus a place of gratitude that my journey wasn’t life threatening I wanted to find a way to encourage others to continue to dream and succeed in ways they may not have planned or expected.”

Jordan, “At 24 the picture of what I thought my life would look like changed. I was a licensed cosmetologist and massage therapist with the goal of one day opening my own salon. Being Diagnosed with Lupus, Fibromyalgia, and all of the complications that accompany these conditions I felt like my life was over before it began. Starting Divine Divas gave me a way to utilize my skills and continue helping people even if it is not from behind the chair.”

The Divine DIVAS will lead the following workshop:

Prioritize Yourself: Self Care is not Selfish!

Self-care is not a luxury, when we get busy the first “expendable” area we drop is “me-time”; taking time to nurture yourself is not selfish, it is health care.

You Can Succeed in Direct Sales

zig_ziglar_success_occurs_when_opportunity_meets_preparation

No problem is insurmountable. With a little courage, teamwork and determination a person can overcome anything. – B. Dodge

No one would pretend that direct sales is easy. If it were, more people would be doing it. It’s commonly said that for every one person who says ‘Yes!’, there are nine who say ‘No!’. If you need to find five people a day to say ‘Yes!’, you will have to talk to fifty people a day.

You need energy, stamina and you need to be able to be as bright and cheerful at six o’ clock at night as you are at eight o’ clock the following morning. If you can’t rise above the trials and tribulations that afflict us all, both in private and in work life, don’t consider a full-time career in direct sales. When I decided to join a direct sales company 18 years ago, what really attracted me was the ability to make my schedule, have qualified people train me and then I was able to find people better than me to build a business with. That was worth all the trials and tribulations I had to go through to make a six figure income.

The truth is building a business isn’t as hard in network marketing as people make it seem. There are systems in place to follow. The challenge is that people over analyze everything and they just don’t follow the system. I had blind faith. I knew I didn’t know anything, so I was extremely coachable. You can be successful in direct sales to if you follow the system that is presented to you and keep these simple things in mind:

  1. Set a schedule and stick to it – Get a planner that allows you to integrate all areas of your life in it so you have everything with you at all times.
  2. Find a mentor – In your company and a coach outside of your company. You need non biased views and ideas in my opinion in order to succeed faster. It is well worth the investment in the long run.
  3. Be a crusader – Own your own products and show potential customers you believe in them.
  4. Stop making excuses – Invest the time you need to and just get it done.
  5. Utilize the direct sales model – Do not reinvent the wheel. Follow the model that has already been proven to work.
  6. Master your craft- Know everything you need to know about your products and service and duplicate your self by training other’s.
  7. Set up a solid referral system – Once you have learned to use it and you are a pro at getting referrals, make sure you teach it to your associates.
  8. Recognize your team –  Big and small accomplishments are important to reward your team for. Everybody has a sign on them that says “make me feel special.”
  9. Have a system for recruiting – Know the numbers. How many people do you have to  invite to look at your opportunity daily to recruit 1 per week?
  10. Follow a marketing plan – Spin multiple plates at all times.  Face to face prospecting, internet marketing, advertising, vendor events and workshops.

When you stop over thinking it and follow the system in place, you can become a master at direct sales!

Success In a Dress “Sales Tip Of The Week #8”

funnyI know when I say the word “sales” to most people, there are a lot of words that are used to describe what sales means to them. I don’t remember hearing the words exciting, or humorous, or fun!

Let’s be honest, I hear words like pushy, scary, hard, even sleazy. The truth is if you are passionate about your product or service sales can actually be fun! I know for the most part, presentations can be boring. I get that, but again, if you love what you do how hard can showing that be if you really think about it? Just remember when you are presenting your product or service to a potential customer, be excited, upbeat and enthusiastic!

Humor is also another way to break the ice when you are ready to give a presentation and can actually help you to close the sale!

How? When you are ready to begin, tell your personal story and add a funny “short” story that can relate to your product or service, or your situation. You can even fit it in during the presentation if the timing and topic fit at that moment!

Watch your potential client’s body language change. You will actually see the people sitting through your presentation relax and some stress relieved from their faces. It can also help you to connect with them.

If you tend to be on the quieter side, or even stiff and rigid while you are giving a presentation -you need to change it up!

Start to add something funny that truly happened to you that you share on your next presentation and see what happens.

We are constantly growing, learning and mastering our sales craft. It is o.k. to critique yourself and change and add new techniques. We are all always evolving no matter how long we’ve been in sales. You just may see that after you add some humor and become more enthusiastic and add more excitement to your presentation, you will close more business!

Sucess In A dress “Sales Tip #7”

ETTWomen's 360 2015 Retreat: Lynette Barbieri

I have the privilege of training new associates in my financial sales business. Obviously, because I’ve been in sales for a long time, I have tips I like to share with my new associates that have worked for me over the years.

But duplicating myself is key in the particular business I am in. Therefore, I share with my new associates tried and true sales tips on a weekly and monthly basis. I do this over and over again because they’ve served as the foundation of me being successful in sales.

The other day I had a conversation with several new associates and one of them asked me to give them one sales tip I could share that has helped me the most. I would like to share it with all of you now here:

What you say to your client is not the key to a successful meeting. Of course what you say is important, but the most important part of your sales presentation (I hate the word pitch) is what they heard and how they process the information you shared with them.

You could think you were smooth, you were clear and that they are the luckiest people on the planet for getting to hear you, and then, the unthinkable happens: They want to think about it!

So what happened? You of course think over and over about what you said, what they said, how you answered the question/s they had and you spend the rest of the night replaying the whole scenario in your mind!

Instead of needless stress and worry, what I have found to be the most helpful is listening to yourself as if you were the customer. Simple right? And how do you do that? Tape your presentation, even better… record yourself on video. Then, ask yourself a few questions as you are listening. Did what you say make you excited to learn more? If you were the potential client, would you have understood clearly what you presented? Would you buy from you based on how you sounded, looked, and explained your product?

Sometimes the answer is no and that’s o.k. Don’t beat yourself up about it but practice. Keep practicing until you can answer yes to those questions; inspect and analyze what you expect!

Meet ETTWomen Member and Author of Inside Outer Beauty, Dixie Lincoln-Nichols

IMG_0204

You know how Lynette and I always talk about The Power of Connections? A tweet, that’s right..a tweet nearly 5 years ago connected me to this fabulous woman whom today I am proud to call a colleague, supporter and most importantly, a friend. Lynette and I are also proud to call her an ETTWomen!

Dixie Lincoln- Nichols is a former science educator (14 years of Biological science education), a wife, mother, author, lifestyle & women’s wellness connoisseur, the founder of Dixie Bits Bath and Body products.

Just like birthing a child, birthing a book comes with a lot of self-doubt, fear and the occasional morning sickness but once it is done…the exhilarating feeling of accomplishment -specially when your ulterior motive is to serve others.

We spent a powerful weekend with Dixie where we received our signed copy of her latest baby: Inside Outer Beauty – Thriving for Healthy and Beautiful Skin Through the Ages.

Inside-Outer-Beauty-copy-2

“We all want to put our healthiest skin forward, for it is the first thing the world sees. But genetics and the environment can sometimes thwart those well intended plans. For some, great looking skin is inherent. For others it is a task. And still for others it is a down right battle to find the best anti aging cream” Dixie explains.

I have personally battled with difficult skin since I was 13 years old and Inside Outer Beauty examines the principle that healthy and gorgeous skin is a result of well rounded care. This includes a clean diet rich in nutrient-dense foods, a consistent and appropriate skin care regimen, radical self care, and heightened mindfulness and spirituality.

Whether you have normal skin or oily skin, teen skin or mature skin, you’ll find applicable and actionable solutions for your specific skin type, that will help guide you on your journey toward obtaining and maintaining healthy, glowing skin.

Inside Outer Beauty  is available in:

Hardcover at  Barnes & Nobles, Amazon,

Ebook/Ereaders: Kobo.comBarnes & NoblesAmazon

After this journey Dixie adds,”Today I want to encourage you to believe your intentions. Write them down. Tell someone. Put them in the universe. Pray about them, and watch them come to pass.”

I can personally relate to what this path looks like, encourage you to do the same and to enhance your life by delving into Inside Outer Beauty today!
